A new NeoMap feature that turns local engagement into coordinated action
🌍 A landowner facing Japanese knotweed creeping across their property. A municipality overwhelmed by goldenrod colonising a hiking trail. A volunteer association already stretched thin. Across Switzerland, the fight against invasive neophytes runs into the same wall: finding the right hands, at the right moment, in the right place. Today, the Canton of Grisons is changing the game.
🚀 With the launch of NeoJob, a first-of-its-kind feature of the NeoMap platform, the Office for Nature and Environment (ANU GR – Amt für Natur und Umwelt) is opening a new path: turning local engagement into coordinated action. Its promise, in six words: take action, in partnership with nature.
🌱 NeoJob is part of Terraviva, the programme through which the Canton is delivering its cantonal Biodiversity Strategy 2023–2032 — built around 28 concrete measures for nature.
🤝 The principle is simple, the impact considerable. NeoJob connects two worlds that rarely managed to meet:
- on one side, those whose land needs care — landowners, municipalities, associations, green-space managers;
- on the other, those who want to roll up their sleeves, on a voluntary or paid basis.
In just a few clicks, free of charge, a region's engagement potential becomes visible, mobilisable and coordinable.
⚙️ Under the hood, NeoMap is built on Pollenn® — the geomatic MRV SaaS (Monitoring, Reporting & Verification) developed by In-Finitude Ltd. Every piece of data is synchronised in real time with Info Flora, Switzerland's national reference platform for flora mapping. Local action enters into immediate dialogue with national monitoring.
✨ With NeoJob, Pollenn® takes a new step up: the platform now brings together citizen science and crowdsourcing within a single infrastructure — multi-function, multi-user, AI-powered. A new stage in orchestrating every possible synergy in the service of biodiversity.
🇨🇭 For years, Pollenn® has been working alongside several Swiss cantons in managing invasive alien species — the Grisons (neophytes, now extended to citizen engagement with NeoJob), Geneva (Asian hornet — over 700 nests eliminated in 2025) and Thurgau. Each canton has its own reality; for each reality, an operational, open and collaborative tool to protect nature in partnership with it.
🎉 Heartfelt thanks to Sascha Gregori and the entire ANU GR team — their trust and ambition made this project possible. NeoJob is now in everyone's hands, valley after valley, to keep biodiversity thriving across the Grisons.
